Perfect Start
I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect start to the year, the hasn’t stopped howling and we even had waves at Clacton, Ok, you have to put “waves” into context. Sail at Clacton regally and you’re soon be referring to wind blown chop as waves, so you see a shore dump that barrels over your head you’ll understand why we’ve claiming Clacton had waves.
I guess the odd thing is just as we get something to turn on at home I seem to have found that need for speed again, but wouldn’t you know it, I ended up standing in the Ray at Southend with little more than just hope. The only time the wind hasn’t turned up on time was the morning the tide was right and I’d found my GPS. If nothing else, it made me sort out my gear, so next time the Ray’s looking right I’ll be heading that way.
They say every action has a reaction and while the weather has been perfect for Clacton, Brightlingsea didn’t look so good, don’t think I’ve seen the paddling pool looking so rough.
