Aleksy Gayda
We’re been having a rather good run of luck with RRD team riders here in the UK, “addiction to windsurfing” is a common trait amongst them all, something our latest addition to the team couldn’t hide. Aleksy Gayda may have officially joined us at new year, yet he was already training in Cape Town and it didn’t take him long to catch Roberto’s eye, by the time I arrived he was already in the photography schedule.
In at the deepened you might say, I’d say it looked like it was second nature, not a single disgruntled moment, just the opposite, Aleksy made every moment count. “disgruntled moment” I hear you cry, yes, the reality is photo shoot’s are really the stuff of dream’s, so much time chasing the conditions or simply waiting for your moment to shine only to see the wind drop. I can’t tell you how many top riders I’ve seen break over the years, I only have to mention the words “photo shot” to a couple of well know names and it’s enough to bring that feeling of disappointment rushing back, but that’s a story for another time.
If there was a complaint it was from us wanting Aleksy to come back in so we could hit the road and head for home, this boy doesn’t seem to understand, enough is enough, but then that’s why he fits in so well.
