More than just windsurfing, Peter Hart and Timo Mullen kept the flow going with some a constant flow of banter across the pool and interviews during the breaks.
Last year Nik Baker was all set for the win when he dramatically crashed out with a broken collarbone after being pushed up against the site of the pool. He could have been forgiven for taking it easy in the same position this year, but there was definitely an air of unfinished business about Nik this year. Though others tried Nik showed no mercy and took every round in the slalom to take the win.
While every windsurfer knows the talent needed to pull of some of the latest moves in freestyle, it hard to imagine what factor you have to add to it when it’s indoors. Generally the freestyle pix look the most dramatic of the three disciplines, but unfortunately the difficulty is lost on the non-windsurfing spectator. Even our commentators were at odds when it came to naming the moves.
Slalom still remains the popular choice of the spectators, its easy to understand who’s winning when its man on man. But this year the jumping really made a name for its self as everyone gave there all on the ramp. Ricardo Campello stepped up and landed the first ever-double loop indoors leaving the crowd screaming.
Lets hope were all back for a forth year…
